HIP Sunday!

Well, the original weather forecast said it was going to be a sunny day of 52 degrees and we were really excited to have such a nice first day of HIP after such a long winter, but we woke up to overcast skies and drizzle with a temperature that felt like 40! Will those weather forecasters ever be as accurate as my 96 year old grandmother? ;)

Even though there was drizzle, Cynthia and Hot Shot made it out to Valley Green Inn for HIP Sunday, which is always on the last Sunday of the month and always at Valley Green Inn. Sometimes other horses and riders from Courtesy and other barns that border the Valley come out and meet there. Despite the weather, there was a fair number of people out walking, hiking, biking and visiting Valley Green Inn and we talked to about 20-25 people while we were there.

hip1Cynthia answers a question about horses hoofs and why they need shoes.

hip2Erin has Hot Shot in hand as she talks to a couple about horses.

hip3A good question is answered about why horses have one hoof instead of feet like humans have.

Oh we can't wait for Spring to come back in full swing!! It will be so nice to be in the park without the layers of clothing and winter coats. Hopefully next month there will be more horses, some green on the trees, flowers blooming, birds singing and better weather for HIP! :)
